Avian Leg Ring for Seabirds

Copernicus Technologies is partnering up with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) in the development of advanced tracking tags.

We're proud to be part of the marine characterization research project (MCRP), partnering with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) in contributing solar-powered legrings as engineering and manufacturing partner.

The purpose of the legrings is to collect data for assessing the influence of tidal energy schemes to the surrounding sea life.

The legrings are encapsulated, resisting the salt water, yet light and small enough to not interfere with the birds' movement.

Features
  • Tracking of a large variety of sea-bird species
  • Light-weight device (ca. 5g)
  • Solar-powered, ruggedized and waterproof
  • TDoA triangulation
  • Configurable over-the-air
  • Supported by our Wonderland Tracking Platform

If you are interested in using the leg ring in your own research, then please don't hesitate to contact us.
